What to wear

You do not need a new wardrobe. Bring what already feels like you. I will help you choose on the day.

There are two sessions, so there are two bags. Studio boudoir is lingerie, a robe, a shirt — private, indoors. Fashion editorial is a coat, a silk shirt, jeans, a dress you already own — outdoors, in daylight.

If you are unsure, send a photo of the clothes on the bed before the date. Or just bring the bag and we will edit it down together.

Studio boudoir

The studio bag

Private hired studio ·your home or hotel

Three or four looks is plenty. Mix one classic, one softer, and one you would not normally wear.

  • One well-fitting set you already own — black or nude is fine
  • One with a bit more interest: lace, colour, a bodysuit or a corset
  • High-waisted pieces or a robe if you want more coverage
  • An oversized white or black shirt
  • A silk robe or kimono
  • Heels if you like wearing them — not required. You will not be walking far
  • Hold-ups or stockings only if you are comfortable putting them on. I can help with the clips

Fit matters more than “sexy”. A set you already like will always photograph better than something new, itchy or too small.

Easy extras

Bring if you already own them

You do not need all of this. One or two extras is enough.

  • Simple jewellery you already own
  • A veil, if it is a bridal gift
  • The shirt they actually wear

Keep it to a few pieces, not the whole suitcase.

Fashion editorial

The outdoor bag

Street, park, woodland, or the village

Clothes on. Imagine a quiet magazine story. You do not need to be a model, and you do not need to buy a new outfit for the day.

  • A coat or blazer that holds a shape
  • One softer piece — silk, knit, a dress
  • Dark jeans or trousers that fit
  • Clean shoes you can walk in
  • Simple jewellery you already own
  • One spare layer if the weather turns

This is not lingerie outdoors. If you want the robe and the private studio, that is boudoir.

Performers

Costume, then one change

Studio: costume, gloves, fan, boots — whatever belongs to the act — plus something simple underneath so we can change the mood in the same session.

Outdoors: costume plus one simple change underneath. Outdoor burlesque is costume and character in a place I choose, not a public undress.

What not to do

This is the same for both sessions.

  • Leave the brand-new fake tan the night before
  • Avoid anything that leaves marks — arrive in loose layers
  • Anything you have to fight to stay in
  • Outfits you feel you “should” wear but hate

Hair, makeup and nerves

Hair and makeup are not included. Come as you want to look, or bring your own makeup artist.

In the studio we start covered, we go at your pace, and you can skip any look. Outdoors I still guide every frame. You do not need to feel confident before you arrive.
